We are looking for a Senior Communications Advisor, Strategic and Corporate Communications who shares our Communications Branch’s core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity. As part of a dynamic group of communications professionals, you will lead a small team focused on providing communications advice and support to your assigned clients. You will plan, coordinate and implement a wide range of communications projects, products, services and activities.  

 

You will also work closely with the different teams within the Communications Branch and networks across the NRC to deliver on the organization’s communications priorities.  

 

This staffing process will be used to fill upcoming positions in the strategic and corporate communications teams.

Education

A university degree in a communications-related area of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Significant* experience providing strategic communications advice to senior management (director-level and above) on complex or sensitive issues;
  • Significant* experience in writing a broad range of communications products for various audiences including at least 3 of the following: news releases, fact sheets, feature articles, brochures, video scripts, web content, social media posts and speeches;
  • Experience in managing sensitive or complex communications projects involving collaboration with various departmental clients, government departments or partners; and
  • Experience in preparing, leading and implementing communications plans or strategies that include multiple tactics both internally and externally.


*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of the duties for a period of at least 5 years within the last 7 years. 

 

Assets:

  • Experience supervising, coaching or mentoring employees.

Compensation

From $110,656 to 118,627 per annum. 

 

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
