Communications Officer, Strategic and Corporate Communications

Your Challenge

Help bring research to life and drive your career forward with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), Canada's largest research and technology organization.

We are looking for Communications Officers to support the NRC’s Communications Branch. You will provide support for a variety of communication activities, including the development of communications materials for traditional and social media, and internal and external communications activities.

This position will require 2 days per week onsite at the NRC work location identified in the form of a hybrid work arrangement (a combination of working onsite and offsite).

This staffing process will be used to fill upcoming positions in the strategic and corporate communications teams.

Screening Criteria

Education

A university degree in a communications-related area of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Recent* experience in coordinating and planning communications products and/or activities.
  • Recent* experience in writing a wide range of communications products, such as content for an internal and/or external website, newsletter articles and social media content.
  • Experience working with internal or external clients.


*Recent experience is associated with having performed a broad range of related activities in a working environment for 2 years within the last 3 years.

  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in communication.

  • Ability to write high quality communications products for a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally.

Relocation

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.

Compensation

From $73,377 to $78,892 per annum. 

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
