We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist  to support our Human Resources Branch. The Human Resources Generalist would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

Working as a partner with your assigned client group, the Human Resources Generalist will deliver high quality client service. You will work closely with your clients to optimize organizational performance, shape culture and build employee engagement through leading human resources management practices.

This is a true generalist role, with key accountabilities including:

  • Providing advice and guidance in areas such as staffing, workforce planning, employment equity, organizational development/effectiveness, performance management, labour relations, learning and career development.
  • Acting as a strategic business partner to ensure human resources strategies and practices are customized to support the client’s business needs.
  • Developing and implementing HR activities in support of local needs and corporate initiatives.
  • Leading and supervising the local HR team.

Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:


Degree from a recognized university in a field relevant to the work to be performed.
An equivalent combination of experience, education, training and/or experience may be accepted.

  • Recent and significant* experience in the delivery of operational or program services in several Human Resources disciplines such as: staffing, classification, labour relations, human resources planning, performance management, disability management or learning.
  • Recent and significant* experience in researching and analyzing strategic and operational HR issues for clients and providing advice/guidance, options and recommendations.
  • Experience in supervision or mentoring.

* Recent and significant experience is defined on the basis of the scope, recent nature and complexity of the work performed which is normally acquired by a person in a position where the performance of these duties are/were the main function for an approximate period of two years within the last four years.

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.


From $89,315 to $99,280 per annum. 


In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
