Publications include the National Model Codes, which form the basis of construction regulation nationwide. They also include technical guides and commentaries on the application of the National Model Codes, and some provincial codes.

The incumbent is responsible for editing and managing the production of publications from draft English text to final files for publication, which involves ensuring that content is presented in a clear, logical fashion with a very high degree of accuracy, and in accordance with accepted standards of style, grammar and usage.
