Work Arrangements:

The Role
We are looking for a Safety and Risk Management Program Coordinator (SRMPC) to support our Digital Technologies Research Centre (DT). The SRMPC would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
In collaboration with the HSE Branch, the safety and risk management coordinator supports the DT research center with the effective delivery of their HSE programs through the administration of HSE programs activities, the coordination of processes and the administrative oversight of all departmental program requirements.
The SRMPC in DT relieves the Administrative Supervisor of administrative responsibilities by handling the coordination of Safety and Risk Management Program items. They may provide a range of other administration services, in support of the Adiminstration Supervisor and act as their replacement when away.
Tasks may include:
- Working to execute HSE requirements specifically tailored to DT. The safety and risk management resource is expected to work collaboratively and in consultation with DT assigned HSE Advisor to ensure consistent and effective delivery of the HSE programs and DT programs.
- Acts as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders such as employees, management, local Workplace Health and Safety Committee (COSH) in relevant program areas to respond to queries, provide information, coordinate testing/training/meetings and gather and redirect information to other resources as required. Track and follow up with the appropriate group on outstanding action items pertaining to health and safety concerns of the research centre.
- Monitors and reports on DT’s performance of HSE programs for compliance with external and internal requirements (laws, policies, processes)
- Provide support to the Committees on Organizational Health and Safety (COSH) at various DT sites and other ad hoc committee by preparing pertinent documentation and recording the discussions and decision points.
- Provides coordination and orientation to new staff on HSE programs and procedures in cooperation with local HSE Advisors.
- In consultation with HSE Advisor, ensures - the management of environmental requirements in HSE programs are deployed in compliance with regulations and NRC-HSE policies.
- This position also offers the opportunity to stand in for the administration supervisor during leave or holidays and to learn tasks related to the administration of the research centre.

Education
Post-secondary diploma with relevant experience, or,
A post-secondary diploma in a field related to HSE (e.g. science, engineering, occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene) with relevant experience may be considered an asset.

Experience
- Experience in coordinating various activities of administrative nature including solving problems and making recommendations to multiple stakeholders.
- Experience gathering information and maintaining data integrity, tracking expenses, writing directives and procedures, reports and minutes of meetings.
- Experience in developing and maintaining administrative systems such as files, logs, and databases and ensuring compliance to classification standards (ie. Protected, secret, etc.) for records management purposes.
- Experience using MS Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience working collaboratively with a variety of colleagues and stakeholders.
- Experience in reading, interpreting and implementing policies, procedures, guidelines and providing related advice and recommendations to internal clients on their application.
- Experience working in a Health and Safety environment considered an asset.
- Experience supervising employees considered an asset.

Compensation
From $66,713 to $78,715 per annum.
In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
