We are looking for a Real Property Officer to support our Real Property Planning and Management Branch. The Real Property Officer would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

 

The Real Property Officer spends a majority of his/her time creating leasing and letting agreements for clients across Canada, working with local and regional staff to fulfill various tenant requirements, coordinating with the Finance Branch to ensure contractual commitments are being met, and working with the RPPM Branch Real Estate Services team to provide real property reporting to senior management. From these tasks, the Real Property Officer will learn more about Canada’s real estate markets and how they work, the operating and maintenance complexities of an organization like the NRC and a broader understanding of the Government of Canada’s governance and reporting of its real property portfolio. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple complex and competing priorities on a daily basis.

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

College diploma in a field related to the duties of the position such as facilities management, security management, health and safety or project management.

 

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position might be accepted.

Experience
  • Significant experience in providing accommodation management services and delivery of small accommodation projects.
  • Significant experience in reviewing plans, and managing expectations of stakeholders, contractors and clients.
  • Significant experience in preparing documentation related to project delivery, contracts, and services.

Technical Competencies
  • Solid knowledge of Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat Policy on Management of Real Property.
  • Solid knowledge of project management and principles.
  • Solid knowledge of Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat Contracting Policy.
  • Solid knowledge of Canada Labour Code and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Solid ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Solid ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Relocation

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.

Salary Range

From $63,076 to $74,275 per annum. 

 

 

In addition, the incumbent who meets the language requirements will  receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.

  • A pre-qualified list may be established for similar positions for a one year period.
  • Occasional travel might be required.
  • Overtime will sometimes be required.
