The Role

We are looking for a Project Management Coordinator, Scientific Infrastructure (PMC) to support our new Office of Facilities Renewal Management (OFRM) team. The PMC would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.


Our research spans a broad spectrum of activities and enables our partners to accelerate commercial development and advance research that leads to scientific breakthroughs and innovation.


The successful candidate will contribute to NRC's scientific infrastructure renewal initiatives by working closely with senior project managers and leaders to successfully deliver OFRM program/projects.


The PMC relieves the project team of project management administrative responsibilities by maintaining project data in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to help all stakeholders have an accurate picture of the project status and forecast. The PMC prepares status reports at team and program levels to assist the Project Managers as well as OFRM managers make informed decisions in order to deliver projects on scope on time and on budget. They also provide a range of other project coordination services, including procurement activities and advice on the processes and tools related to project coordination.

Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

Successful completion of secondary school according to provincial guidelines.


College diploma including project management courses would be considered an asset.


A combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.


A formal designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) would be considered an asset.

Experience

  • Significant* experience in supporting project management (gathering information and maintaining project data integrity, tracking project expenses and milestones, producing project reports and minutes of meetings, supporting several project managers concurrently). 
  • Significant* experience using MS Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in supporting procurement activities preferably in coordination of project-related contracts and equipment acquisition.
  • Experience working in a construction environment and ability to read engineering drawings would be considered an asset.
  • Experience using SAP Project Systems would be considered an asset.


*Significant experience is defined as at least two (2) years of experience.

Compensation

From $66,713 to $78,715 per annum. 

 

In addition, the incumbent who meets the language requirements will  receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $0 per year.
