Project Title
Quantum frequency comb sources for quantum secured communications and computing applications.
The Role
The quantum revolution holds the promise of vastly higher performance sensing and computing in areas of priority for Canada as well as improved security and sovereignty. All applications require sources of quantum light. The NRC is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to carry out research on the use of Quantum Dot Mode Locked Lasers to novel Quantum Frequency Comb sources. We have more than 20 years experience and international recognition in the science of QD-MLL for C band optical communication, and are looking for a motivated scientist to explore their applicability to quantum secure communication and computing. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, modeling and execution of sophisticated experiments encompassing both classical and quantum domains, culminating in a prototype demonstration. They will join an extended team of materials scientists, fabrication experts, modeling and designing scientists as well as device characterisation experimentalists.
