The Role

We are looking for a Harassment and Violence Prevention and Resolution Advisor to join the Values and Ethics team in the NRC’s  Corporate Secretariat. The selected candidate would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity. 

The Harassment and Violence Prevention and Resolution Advisor reports to the Manager, Values and Ethics and works closely with a team of Senior Advisors also in the harassment and violence prevention and resolution team.  

The incumbent is a strong communicator, someone who is collaborative, and analytical with a good understanding of the Harassment and Violence Prevention and Resolution (HVPR) program.

The selected candidate will respond to HVPR related inquiries, prepare correspondence and briefing materials, develop and organize trainings and awareness sessions for internal stakeholders, perform research and analysis to identify issues and trends. 

The Harassment and Violence Prevention Advisor will also develop and update dashboards with tracking action plans and processes to support active case files, prepare and update reports, records, and statements of work in support of establishing investigations with external investigators.

Education

University degree in social science (business, psychology, law, economics, ethics, sociology), human resources management, labour relations, organizational development, or other discipline related to the duties of the position.

Experience

  • Significant* experience in communicating and collaborating with a variety of employee at various levels within an organization.  
  • Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in providing advice, guidance and recommendations on complex issues to employees and management. 
  • Experience in preparing and delivering training and awareness initiatives.
  • Experience in conducting research and analysis. 
  • Experience in writing reports and briefing materials, drafting statements of work, and monitoring dashboards.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and changing priorities. 
  • Experience planning and executing multiple projects and providing ongoing status updates.   


Assets:

  • Experience working for an organizational values and ethics program.
  • Experience with major values and ethics issues in the research community and in the Federal Government environment


*Significant experience means two to six years. 

Condition of Employment

Secret (II)

A secret clearance must be obtained within 12 months of employment.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, virtual meeting and collaboration tools (e.g. MS Teams), and database management systems.

Compensation

From $79,467 to $88,205 per annum. 

 

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
