We are looking for a Cloud Software Solutions Analyst to be a member of our Research Platform Support team. The Analyst would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.


This position will be a member of our Research Platform Support team responsible for supporting NRC’s Microsoft M365 environment and managed services (e.g. Gitlab). The incumbent will setup and maintain managed services in Windows and Linux environments, also supporting and administrating M365 products.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and completing technical documentation of the services and platforms.

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

A University degree or college diploma in a field related to the position, such as (but not limited to) Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

Experience

  1. Recent** and significant* experience supporting and administering the M365 platform.
  2. Recent** and significant* experience supporting and administering Linux and Windows platforms in Microsoft Azure.
  3. Recent** and significant* experience with scripting using a language such as PowerShell, Bash and Python.
  4. Significant* experience providing computing support, analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex platform and software problems.
  5. Significant* experience in creating and updating technical documentation.
  6. Experience working as a team and collaborating with members of other teams.


* Significant is defined as 2 to 5 years of experience.
** Recent is defined as within the last five years.

 

Assets: 

  • Experience in administering and supporting M365 services.
  • Experience in administering and supporting Microsoft Azure services. 
  • Experience with PowerShell or Azure Command-Line Interface (CLI).
  • Experience with relational databases (provide a list of DB experience).
  • Experience in building, configuring and installation of open-source software.
  • Experience configuring and supporting webservers on Linux and Windows.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and the development of related analytical, access, and security tools.
  • Experience with multiple scripting languages.
  • Experience securing infrastructure, platform and web applications, for example, Protected B, Medium Integrity Medium Availability (PBMM) level or Center for Internet Security (CIS) standards.

Condition of Employment

Secret (II)

A Secret clearance must be obtained within 12 months of employment.

Relocation

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.

Compensation

From $74,552 to $93,612 per annum. 

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.

An incumbent occupying a position within the CS Group is currently entitled to receive a terminable allowance of $176 per month.
