The Role

We are looking for an Administration Manager to support our Quantum and Nanotechnologies (QN) Research Centre. The incumbent would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.  
 
The Administration Manager is responsible and accountable for ensuring client-focused and efficient operation of the Research Centre’s Administrative Services team. The incumbent works with the operations management to ensure that the Research Centre’s internal administrative needs are met and champions continuous improvement of services through leadership of change initiatives within the research centre and/or in coordination with the NRC Common Services.  As a result, you may be required to contribute to and/or develop new processes, as well as ensuring their digitization and implementation in the research center.
 
As supervisor to the Research Centre administrative staff, this individual will be expected to lead the team by motivating, providing guidance, and aligning / mobilizing it within a complexe environment.

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

College diploma in administrative services.

 

A combination of education and related experience may also be considered.

Experience

  • Significant* experience in coordinating administrative, operational and financial aspects of projects and activities;
  • Experience working with clients and partners to establish service standards, and in teams adhering to defined services standards;
  • Experience leading a team in a complex organization;
  • Experience coordinating projects or events involving multiple employees and/or multiple disciplines;
  • Experience in drafting and editing reports using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint; 
  • Experience using a document management system, such as SharePoint;
  • Experience in process review and process improvement implementation; and
  • Experience working in a Research & Development or Project Management-based organization would be considered an asset.


*Significant experience is defined as two (2) to five (5) years of experience.

Compensation

Salary under review
From $64,022 to $75,389 per annum.
 

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
