Join us in making biomedical innovations more accessible to Canadians. The new Biologics Manufacturing Centre is helping build Canada’s capacity to produce, access and supply vaccines and other biologics to advance Canada’s biomanufacturing sector and respond to public health emergencies.


We are looking for a Maintenance Coordinator to support our Biologics Manufacturing Centre.The selected candidate would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
 

The Maintenance Coordinator will provide support to the maintenance department to ensure proper and efficient operations are carried out.


The Maintenance Coordinator communicates and tracks the execution of the maintenance plans effectively.  He or She coordinates outside suppliers coming on site, collaborate with internal stakeholders to help solve problems/troubleshoot, resolve ongoing/long term issues.  He or She ensures that detailed maintenance schedules are met and participates in the shutdown schedules, while developing and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to support company goals and objectives with an emphasis on reliability and maintenance excellence. 


The candidate will also manage the maintenance spare parts inventory and participate in the writing and review SOP and Work Instructions.  He or She will support the authoring of change control requests and the documentation of incident reports & investigations.  Finally, he or she will participate in the impact assessments for change control requests and make sure that closure dates are respected  for investigations and CAPAs.


The NRC will soon be transitioning Biologics Manufacturing Centre (including employees and operations) to a not-for-profit corporation structure (outside the Government of Canada). As a result, this is a term employment opportunity with the NRC until March 31, 2023, with the expectation that it transitions under the new organization on a permanent basis after this date. Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in relevant discipline (chemical, mechanical or similar).


College diploma in Engineering, such as mechanical, electrical or electronic. 
 

A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Experience working in GMP manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in working in a maintenance department using CMMS
     

Assets:

  • Experience with Building Automation System
  • Experience in biomanufacturing industry

Condition of Employment

  • Reliability
  • A flexible schedule and overtime may be required. Overtime will sometimes be required on short notice. Must be able to work overtime, including nights, weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Work wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Knowledge of best practices in maintenance management.
  • General knowledge of codes, norms and legislation 
  • Knowledge of and experience with building automation systems and utility management software.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety requirements and legislation.

Relocation

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.

Compensation

From $58,445 to $80,040 per annum. 

 

In addition, the incumbent who meets the language requirements will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
